Western New York could see some heavy rainfall Monday afternoon into the early part of Tuesday. According to the National Weather Service in Buffalo, showers and thunderstorms with embedded heavy rain will develop along lake breeze boundaries during the afternoon hours. That will be followed by more showers and storms passing across the area overnight, and that line will provide the best potential for not only heavy rain, but damaging winds. The National Weather Service's Storm Prediction Center has most of Western New York under a marginal severe weather risk, with the western half of Chautauqua County under a slight severe weather risk. The primary risk is from 12:00-7:00 AM Tuesday.
