The Chautauqua Center, Inc. (TCC Health) will hold its annual Community Picnics in Jamestown and Dunkirk next week in celebration of National Health Center Week from August 2-8. This special week honors the critical role Community Health Centers like TCC Health play in providing comprehensive, affordable, and accessible health care to millions across the country. The Jamestown Community Picnic will take place on Tuesday, August 4th at TCC's location at 107 Institute Street. The Dunkirk Community Picnic is slated for Thursday, August 6th at the Salvation Army on Central Avenue. Hours for both picnics are 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
During the two picnic events, TCC Health will be giving away free backpacks filled with school supplies to the first 300 kids in attendance at each location. Children must be accompanied by an adult, and adults must have a child with them to get a backpack.
In addition to the crucial backpack giveaway, the Community Picnics will offer a range of FREE engaging, family-friendly activities. Picknickers can look forward to:
- Live music and dancing with Marty's Bubble Gum Machine
- A bounce house and face painting, with Eventz by Scott
- FREE photo booth picture mementos with Jermaine James
- Snacks and water compliments of The Salvation Army Anew Center
- A Jamestown Mobile Market experience featuring FREE fresh produce
- Local, state, and federal elected officials will help us celebrate
- Community Health Care Association of New York State in attendance
- Valuable community resources and essential health information
More than 20 vital community partners and agencies, aligned with the mission of accessible care will be on hand to provide valuable information, engaging activities, and essential services that may be offered at little or no cost, further amplifying the impact of Community Health Center Week.
