Current and former employees of Denny's restaurants across Western New York will receive a combined $440,000 in restitution through a settlement announced Thursday by the state's Attorney General. Letitia James says Denny's franchise owners Reveille Management, LLC and Top Line Restaurants, Inc. failed to pay their restaurant workers the full wages they were owed. An investigation by the Office of the Attorney General found that Arizona-based franchise owners Glenn and Tina Beattie repeatedly failed to pay more than 1,900 Denny's workers the extra pay they were owed for long shifts, known as "spread of hours" play, as required by New York law. As part of the settlement, the owners must also overhaul their policies and procedures to ensure the violations do not continue. The investigation began in December 2024 after a Denny's employee filed a complaint. The Beatties operate 23 Denny's locations across Western New York, including one on Bennett Road in Fredonia.
