Kirsten Gillibrand: New Yorkers are struggling
Three Republicans voted in favor of the resolution, and one Democrat opposed it. This marked the 13th war powers resolution voted on in the Senate since the conflict with Iran started. Following the vote, Gillibrand issued a statement, which read in part, "Today's vote sends a clear message to the American people: Republicans have abandoned their duties as elected officials and refuse to keep President Trump in check."
