"America 250" will be the theme of the 2nd annual CHQ History Expo to be held this Sunday in Mayville. The effort is again being headed up by Chautauqua County Historian Norman Carlson, who says the program will begin with an opening ceremony at 10:00 AM at the Town of Chautauqua Community Municipal Building -- the former Mayville High School -- on Academy Street. Norman Carlson: celebrating America 250
Carlson will be one of the four lecturers, along with Paul Fardink, Traci Langworthy, and Rhonda Hoffman. Six Chautauqua County communities were named after signers of the Declaration of Independence, and that will be chronicled as well. The History Expo runs from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and admission and parking will be free.
