Three Dunkirk residents are facing charges following a raid of a residence in the city's Second Ward late Thursday afternoon. The Dunkirk Police Department and Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office narcotics investigators executed a search warrant at 18 West Beach Road shortly after 5:00 PM. The Sheriff's Office says 32-year-old Alexiss Matthews and 45-year-old Peter Galardo were located inside the residence. Investigators seized 172.67 grams of methamphetamine, 6.58 grams of fentanyl, 34.8 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, scales and packaging material, and $535 in cash. Matthews was charged with 2nd-, 3rd- and 7th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and 2nd-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia. Galardo faces a charge of 7th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. In addition, the owner of the residence -- 43-year-old Joshua Latona -- was charged with 2nd-degree criminal nuisance. Matthews was transported to Dunkirk Police headquarters to be arraigned on her charges, while Galardo and Latona were both issued appearance tickets.
