A sex offender who relocated from Pennsylvania to Jamestown in 2021 has been taken into custody for a violation of New York State Corrections Law requiring registration for change of address from another state. Jamestown Police say they were made aware on Friday that 33-year-old Robert Jones allegedly failed to register with the state's Sex Offender Registry. Jones was supposed to register within 10 days after relocating, but according to officers, he has not been registered in New York since 2021. Jones was charged with a Class E felony and transported to the Jamestown City Jail, where he is being held pending arraignment.
