Motorists across the western Southern Tier may want to take caution Tuesday morning, as patchy dense fog impacts the area, especially in and near river and creek valleys. According to a special weather statement issued by the National Weather Service in Buffalo, the dense fog will reduce visibility to one-quarter of a mile or less. Drivers should slow down, maintain plenty of stopping distance ahead of their vehicles, and use their low beam headlights when encountering fog. The fog is expected to dissipate between about 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM.
