New Yorkers with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia will now be able to have more access to information about programs and services they can use, thanks to legislation signed by Governor Kathy Hochul. On Wednesday, Hochul signed a bill that will amend New York's Elder Law to require the NY Connects: Choices for Long Term Care program to provide that information. More specifically, the new law will make dementia and Alzheimer's resources that are already available to New Yorkers easier to find through NY Connects; help individuals, caregivers and families find available home, community and institution based services; and require an ongoing education and outreach campaign to ensure New Yorkers are aware of these new resources. Hochul signed the legislation at an event in New York City.
