Borrello Reacts to Arrest of Woman in Alleged Plot to Bomb State Capitol

A local state lawmaker says the allegations against the person suspected of plotting to attack the State Capitol building in Albany are a "sobering reminder" that threats of terrorism and political violence must always be taken seriously. Senator George Borrello says he's grateful for work done by the FBI and State Police to thwart the alleged plot by 35-year-old Jessica Bowie. Borrello says that while he would like to consider Bowie's alleged premeditated actions to be an isolated incident, he noted that she pledged her support for ISIS, and that "anti-American rhetoric that is often spewed" by some members of the Senate and Assembly has an impact...

The Sunset Bay Republican added that he is grateful Bowie is being charged at the federal level, saying that she "may have walked again at some point" had she been charged with state-level crimes. Bowie faces up to 20 years in federal prison if convicted.
