New York has launched a new promotional effort encouraging Canadian travelers to visit the state. On Friday, Governor Kathy Hochul announced the "NY LOVES CANADA" program, which highlights deals and opportunities available to Canadian visitors during the final weeks of summer. The promotion, which is available on the I LOVE NY website, represents the latest in its continued efforts to promote cross-border tourism. Last year, Canadian visitation to New York fell by more than 26%, and spending from Canadian travelers dropped by 28% over 2024.
