A warm front will bring both instability and increasing moisture today that will support strong to severe thunderstorms through the afternoon and evening. The National Weather Service's Storm Prediction Center has Chautauqua County, as well as parts of Cattaraugus and southern Erie counties under a slight risk for severe weather roughly from 2PM to 10PM. Low pressure is expected to move towards the eastern Great Lakes region with warm and moderately humid air-mass supporting showers and scattered thunderstorms. These storms may bring damaging winds and isolated large hail and heavy rain.
