A piece of Dunkirk High School history is currently up for sale. The Dunkirk City School District has announced the beginning of a silent auction for the original 35'8" flagpole that stood outside the school building. According to the district, every flag raised for generations of Marauders flew from that pole. The minimum bid is $100, and bidding will close on Friday, September 18th at 3:00 PM. All bids are sealed and will not be visible to other bidders. If you want to see the flagpole in person before bidding, you can call the Facilities Office at (716) 366-3189 to set up an appointment. The winning bidder is responsible for pickup and transport, and is asked to plan for a trailer that can handle a 35-foot load. Pickup will be scheduled with the Facilities Office. The Dunkirk City School District reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
