Fredonia Village Trustees Lift Suspension on Public Comments

After more than two months, the Village of Fredonia has lifted the ban on public comments at its Board of Trustees meetings. This week, in a 4-0 vote, the Village Board approved a measure to reinstate the public comment portion, effective at its next regular meeting on September 14th. Among the new guidelines, which were read by Tim Mulholland, is that speakers cannot be ruled out of order merely for criticizing village government...

While not having a vote on the measure, Mayor Mike Ferguson said, "If I had a vote, I would vote 'aye.'" The vote lifts the temporary suspension that was imposed on June 22nd in the wake of an incident outside the trustees' room in May. Christine Cruz-Keefe was absent from this week's meeting.
