A Randolph man has been taken into custody in connection with a stabbing in the Town of Napoli on Sunday. Cattaraugus County Sheriff's deputies were called to 10892 Jamestown Road shortly before 6:15 PM. Deputies say the victim was transported by ambulance to the Hamot Medical Center in Erie for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. An investigation by the Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Bureau led to the arrest of 61-year-old James Ashdown on charges of 1st-degree assault and 4th-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Ashdown was remanded to the Cattaraugus County Jail in lieu of $100,000 cash bail and is due back in Napoli Town Court at a later date. Seneca Nation EMS and State Police assisted at the scene.
