The Dunkirk City School District has decided to cancel this week's high school football game against Iroquois, originally scheduled for Friday at 7:00 PM. In a statement posted Wednesday evening on its Facebook page, the district announced that its football program does not have a sufficient number of players available to field a team that can compete safely. The Iroquois Central School District and Section VI have been notified of the decision, and the game will not be rescheduled. The Dunkirk City School District says its coaches and athletic staff will continue to support their student-athletes as the school moves through the remainder of the season.
