The Silver Creek Central School District is mourning the sudden loss of a student who was in her junior year at Silver Creek High School. Superintendent Katie Ralston announced the passing of Keira Beckstrom in a statement on the district's Facebook page Thursday morning. Ralston says the district has enacted its crisis response plan and has additional counselors and support staff available in the library throughout the day Thursday for any student who would like to talk, seek support, or simply have a safe place to be. Ralston says the district is asking the Silver Creek community to come together with compassion, care, and support for the Beckstrom family and Keira's friends.
