The New York State Broadcasters Association presented WDOE Radio two awards at its regional luncheon in Buffalo on Monday. One of them was an Excellence in Broadcasting Award for Outstanding Newscast (Small Market Radio) for the station's morning news. The second was a Serving New York Award, which celebrates local broadcasters' commitment to serving their communities. Specifically, that award was for the station's coverage of the Discovery Way at the Point trail project, which consisted of a "Viewpoint" interview with representatives of Revitalize Dunkirk and the Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation, plus a story on the project's ribbon-cutting ceremony.
