Projects Submitted for Jamestown's Second DRI Award

About two dozen projects totaling just over $36 million have been submitted for funding under the City of Jamestown's Downtown Revitalization Initiative award. The projects were highlighted during Wednesday's meeting of the DRI's Local Planning Committee at the Prendergast Library. The biggest request was by the city itself, proposing nearly $6.5 million for a number of projects that have to be done at Tracy Plaza, but Mayor Kim Ecklund doesn't expect that would all be done with about $10 million available through the DRI...
Kim Ecklund: a vast array of projects
The major ones include improving the decking -- mainly to stop leaking -- and others to make the more than 50-year-old building more usable. The second largest ask was for $2.5 million for the $6.7 million redevelopment of the former Broadhead Mills location on East 1st Street, currently home to El Greco Woodworking. A project to improve that street itself is also included. Ecklund says there was also a consensus to create a $600,000 fund for smaller projects...

Other projects included assistance for a new location for Ramsey Agricultural, and to stabilize and shore up the former Arcade Building. The next public committee meeting will be held on November 18th.
