
Two men were rescued from Lake Erie after a fishing boat went underwater in the Westfield area late Friday afternoon. Chautauqua County Sheriff's deputies, along with the Westfield Police Department, were dispatched for a reported boater in distress shortly after 5:45 PM near Ottoway Park in the Town of Westfield. Upon arrival, officers located the small vessel fully submerged in the water and two adult males pinned against the cliff bank. The Westfield Fire Department, Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office Dive Team, and Chautauqua County Technical Rescue Team were subsequently dispatched to assist. Officers and a member of the Dive Team were able to safely extract both men from the water and bring them to safety without further incident.
