Three people are facing charges stemming from two separate investigations into narcotics activity in the City of Dunkirk.
The first two arrests occurred last Tuesday as the result of a probe into firearms and narcotics activity at 935 Swan Street. Narcotics investigators from the Dunkirk Police Department, Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office and Jamestown Police Department executed a search warrant at the residence and located 20-year-old Balin Rader and 45-year-old Holly Pilarski inside. As a result of the search, investigators seized a quantity of cocaine and psilocybin mushrooms, scales and packaging materials, and a quantity of cash. Balin and Pilarski were both charged with 3rd-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and 2nd-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia. Both suspects were issued appearance tickets for Dunkirk City Court. Detectives from the Buffalo Police Department and FBI Safe Streets Task Force assisted with the investigation.
The second investigation ended with a search warrant executed on Wednesday at 421 Plover Street. Narcotics investigators from the Dunkirk Police Department, Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office and Jamestown Police Department were assisted by detectives from the Buffalo Police Department and the ATF in the search. 39-year-old Lucas Smyczek was located inside the residence, and investigators also seized 5.6 grams of fentanyl, a quantity of cocaine, scales and packaging material, and a quantity of cash. Smyczek was charged with 3rd-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, tampering with physical evidence, and 2nd-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia. The Sheriff's Office adds that Smyczek had an arrest warrant out of Jamestown City Court. He was taken to the Dunkirk Police Department to be arraigned in Dunkirk City Court.
