
Multiple people were hospitalized following a two-vehicle crash Friday afternoon in downtown Westfield. First responders were called to the intersection of Main Street and Portage Street shortly after 4:00 PM. According to Westfield Police, a preliminary investigation determined that a vehicle traveling west on Main Street failed to stop for a steady red light, resulting in a collision with a northbound vehicle on Portage Street traveling through the intersection. The people involved in the crash suffered non-life threatening injuries and were taken to Westfield Memorial Hospital for treatment. Police say they are all expected to recover. Officers did not say how many people were injured. Charges are expected as a result of the investigation. The Westfield Fire Department, Fire Police, and Chautauqua County EMS assisted at the scene.
