The Cassadaga Valley Central School District says its Fitness Center will be closed for at least the coming week after one of the building's unit heater transformers overheated and began to smoke Saturday evening. Firefighters from Sinclairville, Gerry and Cassadaga to a fire alarm at the facility shortly before 6:45 PM. In a Facebook post, the district stated that its facilities team determined that the building will need to remain closed while repair needs are evaluated and completed. CVCS says it will keep the community updated on the Fitness Center's reopening date.
