First responders worked quickly to rescue a boater whose vessel capsized on Chautauqua Lake late Tuesday afternoon. At approximately 5:00 PM, firefighters from Bemus Point and Maple Springs, along with the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office Water Rescue Team, were called to the scene near Long Point State Park, where a sailboat overturned in the water. In a Facebook post, the Bemus Point Fire Department says the situation was brought under control rapidly due to the swift intervention of the rescue crews and local first responders.
