The Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office says an electrical issue triggered an early morning house fire just west of the City of Dunkirk. Firefighters responded to the fire at 4561 Route 5 just before 2:45 AM, with West Dunkirk Fire receiving mutual aid from the City of Dunkirk, East Dunkirk, Fredonia, Sheridan and Bay Creek. The county's Fire Investigation Team determined that the fire originated in the kitchen area of the home. There is no word on any injuries. The Red Cross is assisting the family living at the residence.
