A Randolph man has been jailed following an alleged assault in the Town of Cold Spring. Cattaraugus County Sheriff's deputies say 35-year-old Dean Walters, who was the subject of a complaint on South Loop Road, was taken into custody Saturday evening after he allegedly hit the victim in the head with a baseball bat. Deputies say Walters was located hiding in a car in a junkyard on Railroad Avenue in the town. He was arraigned in Randolph Town Court on charges of 2nd-degree assault, 2nd-degree menacing, and endangering the welfare of a child, then remanded to the Cattaraugus County Jail. Seneca EMS and Seneca Nation Marshals assisted at the scene.
