New York's regulated adult-use cannabis market has exceeded the $4 billion mark in retail sales. Governor Kathy Hochul announced Tuesday that it marks a major economic milestone for the state's cannabis industry since adult-use sales began in December 2022. The market has surpassed $4.1 billion, which Hochul says reflects the growing number of New Yorkers who choose to buy cannabis through the legal market. She says it also reflects the contributions of licensed cultivators, processors, distributors, retailers, entrepreneurs and workers who are building the industry. Nationally, New York is ranked third in adult-use retail cannabis sales.
