Nora Contreras, 64, of Dunkirk passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and devotion to her family.
Born on February 24, 1962, Nora graduated from Sherman High School and was known for her warm spirit and friendly nature. She had a kind heart and welcomed everyone she met with compassion and respect.
Nora enjoyed dancing and playing bingo, activities that reflected her lively personality and love for being around people.
In June 2010, she married her loving husband, Juan Contreras. She was a devoted mother to Jennifer Sullivan, Candice Lopez, Shenan Sullivan, Daniel Sullivan and Amber Sullivan; and a proud grandmother to Chianti Lopez, Liriano Lopez, Marcellas Fuentes-Rivera, Julie Conklin, Danielle Sullivan, James Conklin, Tatiana Contreras and Destiny Contreras. She is also survived by her brothers, Bernard Mount, Talbert Mount and Charles Eckerdt; her half-sister, Sharon Sowers; extended family member, Linda Smith; and dear friends, Cathy Smith and Kristen Smith.
Nora will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.
Relatives and friends are welcome to attend memorial services on Saturday, March 21 at 12:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church, 601 Washington Avenue in Dunkirk. Interment will be held in private.
