Brenda Bates Beehler, 80, of Brocton passed away surrounded by her loving family on Monday, March 23, 2026 at Brooks Memorial Hospital. She was born to Grace Davis Bates and James Milton Bates on February 10, 1946 in Westfield.
Brenda grew up in Mayville and would tell stories of how great it was to grow up in the 1950s. She graduated from Mayville High School.
Brenda held many positions in the health care field and made many friends along the way. She retired from Cornell Cooperative Extension as a nutritional coordinator, a job she loved. There, she used her knowledge to teach many people much-needed life skills. She finished her work career with a stint at Calarco's Restaurant and Lounge in Westfield as an afternoon bartender and waitress; she called that the most interesting job of her life.
Brenda is survived by her two sons, David (Laura) Beehler, Jr. of Dunkirk and Christopher (Cassie) Beehler of Westfield; a daughter, Susan (Joe) Worczak of Dunkirk; her cherished grandchildren, Jessica and James Beehler and Joey, Brendan and Lucas Worczak, all of Dunkirk; several cousins, nieces and nephews, including Ron (Monica) Malany, Cherie (Troy) Smith, Shane (Carmen) Howard, Michael Beehler, Darci Goddard and Belinda Foreman; and her loyal and loving canine companions, Preston, Oliver and Molly. In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by her former husband, David Beehler in 2021; her sister, Tanya "Toni" Reynolds; a brother-in-law, Bernard "Bob" Beehler; a sister-in-law, Barbara Howard; and a nephew, Nathan Howard.
Brenda graciously donated her body to the University at Buffalo Anatomical Donation Program.
Relatives and friends may visit the Morse Funeral Home, 19 East Main Street in Brocton on Saturday, March 28 from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM.
