Geraldine M. Harper

Geraldine M. "Gerry" Harper, 94, of Westfield passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 22, 2026 at St. Vincent's Hospital in Erie, PA, with her family at her side.

Gerry was born on August 24, 1931 in Westfield, the daughter of the late Virginio and Virginia (Squillace) Calarco. On January 21, 1956, she married the love of her life, Edward G. Harper at St. James RC Church in Westfield, and he preceded her in death on October 10, 2007.

Gerry was a lifelong area resident who graduated from Westfield Academy and Central School in 1949. She continued her education on at St. Jerome's School of Nursing, earning a Bachelor of Science in nursing (BSN).

She worked as a registered nurse for Westfield Memorial Hospital and at the Chautauqua County Department of Health in Mayville as a visiting nurse, retiring after more than 20 years of service.

Gerry was a very active member of St. Dominic's RC Church in Westfield, where she practiced her faith every day; she belonged to the Altar Rosary Society and served as a Eucharistic minister.

Surviving are a son, David (Barb Rubble) Harper; three daughters, Diane (George) Myers and Linda (Michael) Wolfe of Westfield and Cindy (Darren) Stott of Forestville; six cherished grandchildren, Matthew (Jamie) and Brad Damcott, Tiffany (Brooks) Travis, Lane (Casey) Wolfe, Kyle (Jess) Harper and Donald (Emily) Paddock; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 51 years, Edward G. Harper; three brothers, Anthony, Vincent and Carl Calarco; and two sisters, Grace Trippy and Theresa Russo.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Friday, March 27 at St. Dominic RC Church, 15 Union Street in Westfield. Gerry was interred in St. James Cemetery.
