Michael B. Little

Michael B. Little, 82, of York, ME peacefully passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2026.

Michael was born on July 8, 1943 in Dunkirk, the son of Frank and Doris Little. He grew up in Fredonia, where he excelled at athletics. He furthered his education, graduating from Cornell University and earning Master's degrees from New York University and the University of Virginia.

Michael met his wife of 56 years, Sheryl, when they were in graduate school at NYU. Their teaching careers took them to Washington, DC. In 1977, they moved to York, ME, where they raised their two children, Jeremy and Andrea.

Michael taught science and coached soccer, basketball and track at Marshwood High School for 30 years. He enjoyed watching his own teams, as well as his children's teams on athletic fields.

In retirement, Mike was an avid golfer and tennis player. He was an active member of the York Golf and Tennis Club, where he served on the board of directors for many years. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports, traveling coast to coast to catch their games.

He leaves behind his wife, Sheryl; son, Jeremy; daughter, Andrea; grandchildren, Joselyn, Thatcher, Noah and Beckett; and his brother, Douglas Little.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Wednesday, July 8 from 4:00-7:00 PM at the York Golf & Tennis Club, 62 Organug Road in York, ME.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to York Educational Fund and York Scholarship Fund in his memory. Donations for York Scholarship Fund can be sent or dropped off to York Golf & Tennis Club.

Arrangements are by the Lucas & Eaton Funeral Home in York, ME.
