Top left: Fredonia-Westfield-Brocton running back Joell Colon looks for some room downfield during Friday night's high school football opener against Springville. Colon scored one of FWB's two touchdowns on a 90-yard kickoff return. But the highlights from FWB were few and far between, as they lost to Springville by a score of 52-14. Photo by Ron Szot
Top right: Silver Creek's Billy Seiders turns the corner for extra yardage against Randolph. Seiders was the main offensive sparkplug for the Black Knights with 170 total yards in a 26-7 victory. Bottom left: NFL teams have until 4:00 this afternoon to reduce their rosters to 53 players. The Bills made their cuts Friday, and outside linebacker Manny Lawson is among those who will not wear a Bills uniform when the regular season begins. Lawson and fullback Jerome Felton headlined the team's cuts.
Bottom right: A big trade has been made today in the NFL. Desperate for a starting quaterback after a devastating knee injury to Teddy Bridgewater, the Minnesota Vikings have acquired Sam Bradford in exchange for two draft picks. Bradford had wanted out of Philadelphia after the Eagles drafted Carson Wentz with the second overall pick in this year's NFL Draft. Photo by the Sporting News
