Saturday Sports Update

Top left: Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Kyle Williams signs some autographs for fans in attendance at Friday's practice at New Era Field.  Player interaction with fans was a big part of the team's second annual event known as "Return of the Blue and Red," which serves as an opportunity for fans to meet Bills players, plus a chance for new Bills players to get accustomed to their new surroundings before the preseason begins.  Photo by buffalobills.com

Top right: The eight newest members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame will be enshrined this evening in Canton, Ohio.  Headliners of the Class of 2018 include wide receivers Randy Moss (front left center) and Terrell Owens (front right center), as well as linebackers Brian Urlacher (front left), Ray Lewis (back right center), and Robert Brazile (back right), safety Brian Dawkins (back left center), guard Jerry Kramer (front right), and contributor Bobby Beathard (back left).

Bottom left: On a night that saw tempers on edge and Boston Red Sox manager Alex Cora get ejected, Red Sox pitcher Rick Porcello let his pitching do the talking on Friday against the New York Yankees.  Porcello tossed a gem, going the distance and allowing only one hit in a 4-1 victory over the Bronx Bombers.  Boston's lead over New York atop the American League East is now 7 1/2 games.  Photo by the Boston Globe

Bottom right: Ohio State head football coach Urban Meyer issued a statement Friday saying that he "failed" when he denied knowing about domestic violence allegations against one of his former assistant coaches, Zach Smith. Meyer, who was placed on administrative leave on Wednesday, said last week that he knew nothing about a 2015 complaint or any other domestic issues that Smith had during the six years the two worked together at Ohio State.  Photo by USA Today
