Saturday Sports Update -- November 3, 2018

Peterman gearing up to start against the Bears...the Dodgers' ace staying in L.A....and four local athletes qualify for state cross country championships.  More details from Greg Larson on today's Saturday Sports Update...

Saturday Sports Update

Top left: Nathan Peterman says he's excited about getting another chance to start for the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, but how much excitement will he provide?  Peterman has attempted 32 passes with one touchdown and four interceptions and a woeful passer rating of 20.8 this season for a team who offense has been...well, anemic.  Peterman will likely start under center on Sunday against the Chicago Bears after Derek Anderson sat out Friday's practice, still dealing with a concussion.  Photo by the Buffalo Bills

Top right: Rumors about Clayton Kershaw's departure from Los Angeles can be put to bed now.  On Friday, the Dodgers announced that they have signed their ace to a three-year extension worth a reported $93 million, replacing the last two years on his current contract.  Kershaw went 9-5 with a 2.73 ERA in 2018, helping lead the Dodgers to a second consecutive World Series appearance.  Photo by USA Today

Bottom: There will be four cross country athletes from the north county who will participate in next week's state championships on Long Island after strong showing in Friday's Section VI championships in Bemus Point.  Dunkirk's Jericha Petrella (left) finished in first place in her meet, Fredonia's Emily Brown (center) took home second place in her meet, and Fredonia's Diego Rey (right) finished in fourth place in her meet.  Joining them will be Silver Creek's Ellie Decker, who took home a sixth-place finish in her meet.  Photos by the Observer
