Torres and Tanaka dominate in ALCS opener...Nationals continue to silence the Cardinals' bats...and a massive upset in the SEC.  Greg Larson has more details on today's Sunday Sports Update...

Sunday Sports Update

Top: Gleyber Torres (left) and Masahiro Tanaka (right) shined on Saturday as the New York Yankees delivered a statement win in Game 1 of the American League Championship Series in Houston.  Torres went 3-for-5 at the plate with a home run, a double, and five RBI, while Tanaka pitched six shutout innings and surrendered just one hit and one walk.  The Yankees shutout the Astros 7-0, and will look to ride that momentum into Game 2 this evening.

Bottom left: The Washington Nationals have put on a pitching clinic so far in the National League Championship Series.  On Saturday, Max Scherzer took a no-hit bid into the 7th inning against the St. Louis Cardinals.  He didn't get the no-no, but he did strike out 11 batters over seven innings as the Nationals beat the Cardinals 3-1 to grab a surprising 2-0 series lead.

Bottom right: Georgia quarterback Jake Fromm gets swarmed by the South Carolina defense on Saturday in a game that may prove costly to UGA's chances of getting into the College Football Playoff this year.  The Bulldogs, who entered the weekend tied for 3rd in the Associated Press Poll, lost to the unranked Gamecocks at home by a score of 20-17 in double overtime.
