Sunday Sports Update

Top left: The Buffalo Bills will be looking to rebound from last week's 31-13 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, the worst performance by the Bills so far this season.  Today should serve as an opportune occasion to get back into the win column, as Josh Allen and company go up against a Washington Redskins team that is the lowest scoring team in the NFC.  Catch all the action between the Bills and the Redskins on WDOE (94.9 FM/1410 AM), with kickoff at 1:00 PM!  Photo by the Buffalo Bills

Top right: Elsewhere around the NFL, a Chautauqua County native may be getting an opportunity to appear in his first regular season game as a professional.  The Cleveland Browns this week signed tight end Stephen Carlson off the team's practice squad, and have announced that the Jamestown native will be active for today's late afternoon contest against the Denver Broncos.  Photo by the Post-Journal

Bottom left: Carter Hutton did not have a busy night in net for the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday. He faced only 21 shots against the New York Islanders, but he did give up the game's only goal in the 1st period, as the Sabres lost 1-0 at the KeyBank Center.  It is the team's third consecutive loss.  Photo by the Buffalo Sabres

Bottom right: Laura Johnston gains possession of the ball during Saturday's Section VI Class C girls soccer championship game between Westfield-Brocton and Frewsburg.  In a game that ended in adverse conditions, the Lady Wolverines lost in heartbreaking fashion, 8-7 in a penalty shootout after the game ended 0-0 through regulation and extra time.  Photo by the Observer
