Top: Dunkirk High School's basketball teams put together dominating performances on Friday during the first day of the Frewsburg Holiday Tournament. In the girls' game, Olivia Smith (left) scored 27 points in the first half en route to a 32-point effort in an 84-51 win over Gowanda. Meanwhile, Carlito Villafane (right) scored 20 points in leading a balanced boys attack to a 95-38 victory, also over Gowanda. Photos by Greg Larson
Bottom left: The Buffalo Sabres could not get anything past the Boston Bruins at the KeyBank Center on Friday. The Sabres fired 26 shots at net, and all 26 were stopped as the Sabres dropped a 3-0 decision.
