Sabres look to right the ship this afternoon...Lakers pay tribute to Kobe...and an American champion down under.  More details from Greg Larson on today's Saturday Sports Update...

Saturday Sports Update

Top: The Los Angeles Lakers paid tribute to Kobe Bryant on Friday, as the team played for the first time since Bryant and his daughter, Gianna, died last Sunday in a helicopter crash in southern California.  Here, musical artist Usher sings "Amazing Grace" during the team's pregame tribute.  LeBron James borrowed Bryant's retirement phrase by saying, "Mamba out, but...not forgotten."  Photo by USA Today

Bottom left: Jack Eichel and the Buffalo Sabres have been a frustrated bunch lately.  The team is currently on a three-game losing streak as it wraps up a three-game homestand this afternoon against the Columbus Blue Jackets.  Sabres coach Ralph Krueger says the "noise" from the frustrated fan base is "deserved," but that it is not letting it get to the players in the locker room.  Photo by the Buffalo Sabres

Bottom right: Sofia Kenin displays the championship trophy after winning the Australian Open earlier today.  The 21-year-old American defeated Garbine Muguruza 4-6, 6-2, 6-2 in Melbourne to win her first Grand Slam title.  Photo by Reuters
