Saturday Sports Update
The police-involved killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis has generated plenty of reaction around the NFL this week. Buffalo Bills defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier (top left) said during a video conference on Thursday that Floyd's death could be "a watershed moment" in this nation's history. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell (top right) said Friday evening that the league should have listened better when its players tried to speak out and inform them of injustices the black community has faced. New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees (bottom left) had initially criticized players who took a knee during the national anthem, saying it disrespects the American flag. He later apologized for making that comment. Drew Brees photo by USA Today
Bottom right: NBA players and fans now have something to look forward to, with the league's Players Union on Friday officially agreeing to the proposal to restart the season in Orlando, Florida on July 31st. The restart will include 22 teams and will have the remaining games being played at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. Photo by the Walt Disney Corporation
