Saturday Sports Update

Top left: The Buffalo Bills have been drawing praise from the NFL Players Union for how they handled their positive coronavirus cases at the start of training camp.  The team sent all of its rookies home and re-sanitized its facilities, and since then, the positive cases have recovered, and there are no current COVID-19 cases within the team.  ESPN reports that it's one of a number of positive signs for the NFL to start its 2020 season.  Photo by the Buffalo Bills

Top right: While the Bills prepare for a new NFL season, the Toronto Blue Jays have brought the long ball to Buffalo!  Here, Rowdy Tellez rounds third base after hitting one of his team's six home runs during Friday's game against the Tampa Bay Rays at Sahlen Field.  The Blue Jays went on to win 12-4.  Photo by USA Today

Bottom left: After a slow start to the season, Gleyber Torres turned in a much-needed hitting display for the New York Yankees on Friday.  Torres went 4-for-4 at the plate, including a two-run double in the bottom of the 3rd inning, as the Yankees went on to rout the Boston Red Sox 10-3 at Yankees Stadium.  New York's record of 13-6 currently tops the American League East.  Photo by USA Today

Bottom right: Portland Trail Blazers All-Star point guard Damian Lillard leads his team against the Memphis Grizzlies in the NBA's Western Conference play-in game this afternoon in Orlando, as the NBA Playoffs get underway.  If the Blazers win, they will face the Los Angeles Lakers in the next round.  The Grizzlies will need to beat the Blazers twice in order to advance.  Photo by USA Today
