Saturday Sports Update
Top left: It's not official yet, but all signs are pointing towards the Buffalo Bills signing free agent wide receiver Kenny Stills. A report on Friday by the Houston Chronicle indicates that the team is expected to sign Stills before the playoffs begin. Stills, who is in his eighth NFL season, caught 11 passes for 144 yards and a touchdown with the Houston Texans before they released him at the end of November. Stills would fill a potential void left by Cole Beasley, who is dealing with a leg injury. Photo by the Houston Texans
Top right: A new NHL season may be coming up, but so far preparations have gotten off to a rocky start for the Buffalo Sabres. The team held its first practices of training camp on Friday without the services of captain Jack Eichel due to injury. He's listed as day-to-day. Meantime, WGR reports that Victor Olofsson left this morning's practice due to an apparent injury to his left arm. Photo by the Buffalo Sabres

Alabama receiver DeVonta Smith (left) caught seven passes for 130 yards and three touchdowns to help lead the Crimson Tide to a 31-14 triumph over Notre Dame. Meantime, Justin Fields (right) threw for 385 yards and six touchdowns as the Buckeyes took down Clemson 49-28. The two teams will square off for the national championship on January 11th.
