Saturday Sports Update

Top left: The injury status of Patrick Mahomes has been the central question surrounding Sunday's AFC Championship Game between the Buffalo Bills and the Kansas City Chiefs.  On Friday, reporters appeared to have gotten their answer.  Mahomes, who left last week's AFC Divisional Playoff contest against the Cleveland Browns with concussion-like symptoms, announced that he has cleared concussion protocol and expects to play on Sunday.  Photo by the Kansas City Chiefs

Top right: The Buffalo Bills don't have any major injury concerns for the AFC Championship Game.  They do have two players who are listed as questionable, including rookie wide receiver Gabriel Davis, who injured his ankle against the Baltimore Ravens last week.  Defensive tackle Vernon Butler is also questionable for Sunday with a quadriceps injury.  Photo by the Buffalo Bills

Bottom left: Dylan Cozens scored his first NHL goal on Friday, the first of what Buffalo Sabres fans are hoping of many more to come.  Cozens' first career tally came midway through the 2nd period of the Sabres' game against the Washington Capitals, tying the game at 2-2.  The Sabres, however, came up short, losing 4-3 in a shootout.  Photo by the Buffalo Sabres

Bottom right: One of baseball's all-time greats passed away on Friday.  Hank Aaron held baseball's all-time home run record for 33 years; he surpassed Babe Ruth's career mark in 1974 and retired with 755 career homers.  He is also baseball's all-time leader with 2,297 RBI, 6,856 total bases, and 1,477 extra-base hits.  Aaron died at the age of 86.  Photo by the National Baseball Hall of Fame Library
