Saturday Sports Update -- April 10, 2021

Dunkirk loses another tight game...Sabres fall to the Capitals...and the first no-hitter in Padres history.  More details from Greg Larson on today's Saturday Sports Update...

Saturday Sports Update

Top: Dunkirk was embroiled in a close game on the high school gridiron for the second week in a row, and just like their season opener against Maryvale, the Marauders wound up on the wrong end of the score.  Christian Ortiz (left) ran for 96 yards on 28 carries to lead Dunkirk's offense.  However, turnovers hurt the Marauders again; Olean's Kaleb Ramadhan (right) intercepted two passes in the first half, two of four turnovers committed by Dunkirk in the contest.  The Marauders lost 14-8 on a short touchdown run by the Huskies with 29 seconds left.  Photos by Ron Szot

Bottom right: The San Diego Padres were the only team in Major League Baseball that did not have a no-hitter to their credit.  That changed Friday night, when San Diego native Joe Musgrove (left) got the no-no in a 3-0 win over the Texas Rangers.  Until that game, the Padres had gone 8,206 consecutive games with a no-hitter since the franchise's inception in 1969.  Photo by the San Diego Padres
