Sabres close their season with a loss...Yankees beats the Nats in extra innings...and Southwestern tops CSP in close-fought Class C semifinal.  Greg Larson has more details on today's Sunday Sports Update...

Top left: The Buffalo Sabres played their final game of the NHL regular season on Saturday, and like the majority of their games this season, it ended with a loss.  Sam Reinhart and company were unable to put any pucks past Pittsburgh's netminder, as the Sabres lost to the Penguins by a 1-0 score in the Steel City.  Buffalo ends the season with an NHL-low 37 points.  Photo by the Buffalo Sabres

Top right: D.J. LeMahieu slides in to score the winning run for the New York Yankees during Saturday's game against the Washington Nationals at Yankee Stadium.  The run scored on a single by Gleyber Torres in the bottom of the 11th inning to give the Bronx Bombers a 4-3 victory.  Photo by USA Today

Bottom left: Buffalo Bills Director of Player Personnel Dan Morgan has landed a new job.  On Saturday, the Carolina Panthers announced that they have hired Morgan as that team's Assistant General Manager.  Morgan, who spent three seasons in Buffalo's front office, returns to the franchise where he spent his entire playing career.  Photo by USA Today

Bottom right: Southwestern junior Aidan Kennedy delivers a pass during Saturday's Section VI Class C high school football semifinal game against Clymer-Sherman-Panama.  Kennedy threw two touchdown passes and ran for another score as the Trojans defeated the Wolfpack 24-21.  The result ended a 14-game winning streak for CSP, dating back to September 2019.  Photo by David Burnworth
