Saturday Sports Update

Lotter finished the night with 110 yards rushing and two touchdowns on just six carries, as the Hillbillies shut out the Panthers 30-0 to improve their record to 3-0. Gowanda forfeited the contest at halftime due to a lack of healthy players available. Image by Greg Larson

On Friday, the Trojans won their second straight contest, defeating Chautauqua Lake-Westfield-Brocton 51-0 behind four touchdown passes and a touchdown run by senior Aidan Kennedy. Bottom left: The New York Yankees picked up a crucial win on Friday, defeating the Boston Red Sox 8-3 at Fenway Park to pull within one game of the Sox for the first American League wild card spot. That, coupled with a Toronto loss, gives New York a two-game cushion on the Jays and the Seattle Mariners for the second spot. Giancarlo Stanton (left) hit a three-run home run as part of a four-run 3rd inning, while Gerrit Cole (right) gave up three runs and five hits in six innings for his 16th win of the season.
