Saturday Sports Update
Top: Fredonia and Southwestern battled to the finished in Friday night's high school football clash at the Orange Bowl. Nick Whitfield (left) ran for three touchdowns to push the Hillbillies out to a 27-7 lead through three quarters. The Trojans rallied in the 4th quarter with three unanswered touchdowns, including a 17-yard run by Aidan Kennedy on the final play of regulation to make it a two-point game. But the Hillbillies came up with one final stand, stopping Kennedy on a quarterback sneak on the ensuing two-point conversion (right) to preserve a 27-25 victory and a perfect 5-0 record. Bottom left: With a showdown against the high-flying Kansas City Chiefs looming, the Buffalo Bills are hoping to get healthy on the defense. One of the key parts to their defense, linebacker Matt Milano, missed most of practice this week with a hamstring injury. He did practice on a limited basis on Friday and is listed as questionable for the Sunday night showdown at Arrowhead Stadium. Photo by the Buffalo Bills

Martinez (right) that broke a 5-5 tie in the 5th inning and put the Red Sox ahead to stay in a 14-6 win over the Tampa Bay Rays. Martinez was 4-for-5 on the night to help the Red Sox even up the best-of-five series at 1-1. Photo by USA Today
