Sunday Sports Update

Top: A weary Buffalo Sabres team was able to salvage a point in Detroit on Saturday, but had to settle for a 3-2 overtime loss to the Detroit Red Wings.  Dylan Cozens (left) scored the first goal of the night for the Sabres, who were able to tie the game with 1:37 left in regulation.  Dustin Tokarski (right) made 38 saves in net, but gave up the deciding goal just 26 seconds into the extra period.  Saturday's game was the fifth one in seven nights for the Sabres, who return to action on Monday.  Photos by the Buffalo Sabres

Bottom left: The Ohio State-Michigan rivalry has been dominated in recent years by the Buckeyes.  However, that trend got snapped in Ann Arbor on Saturday, as the fifth-ranked Wolverines defeated the Buckeyes 42-27 to make a strong case for being included in the College Football Playoff top four.  The win marked Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh's first win in six tries against Ohio State and the program's first win over their Big Ten rivals in nine years.  Photo by the University of Michigan

Bottom right: St. Bonaventure's time as an undefeated team came to an end on Saturday.  The 16th-ranked Bonnies battled back from a 19-point halftime deficit on their home floor, but they wound up losing to Northern Iowa 90-80.  Cheektowaga native Dominick Welch scored a career-high 20 points and grabbed seven rebounds.  Photo by St. Bonaventure University
