Sunday Sports Update
Top: Earlier this season, some might have billed today's game between the Buffalo Bills and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as a Super Bowl preview. That outlook looks much different today, as Josh Allen (left) and company are now fighting just to stay in playoff position following Monday night's 14-10 loss to the New England Patriots. Meanwhile, the Buccaneers, led by the all-too-familiar Tom Brady (right), enter with a 9-3 record and remain one of the top contenders in the NFC. WDOE (94.9 FM/101.5 FM/1410 AM) will bring you live coverage of today's Bills-Buccaneers game, with kickoff scheduled for 4:25 PM! Photos by the Buffalo Bills and Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Bottom left: Ukko-Peka Luukkonen was a busy man in net for the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday. The rookie goalie made 40 saves against the Washington Capitals. His efforts were enough to help the Sabres earn a point, but they weren't enough to snap the team's losing streak. The Sabres lost 3-2 to the Capitals, extending their winless streak to seven. Bottom right: Alabama quarterback Bryce Young was an overwhelming favorite to win this year's Heisman Trophy, and it became official on Saturday. The sophomore threw for 4,322 yards and 43 touchdowns in leading the Crimson Tide to a 12-1 record. Photo by the University of Alabama
