Sunday Sports Update
Top: Last week, Josh Allen (left) and the Buffalo Bills leapfrogged the New England Patriots in the AFC East standings with a crucial 33-21 win last week. Today, the Bills can clinch a playoff spot with some outside help, plus a win over the visiting Atlanta Falcons. The Falcons, led by 14-year veteran quarterback Matt Ryan (right), are in a battle for a playoff spot themselves, entering today's game with a 7-8 record and one game outside of the playoff picture. However, that lead did not hold up, and the Sabres had to settle for one point after losing in overtime by a 4-3 score. The Sabres have lost four in a row and will not return to the ice until Thursday. Photo by the Buffalo Sabres
Bottom right: Jamestown native Jaysean Paige made his debut in the NBA on Saturday, one day after signing a 10-day contract with the Detroit Pistons. Paige played in a 6:37 stretch of the first half against the San Antonio Spurs, logging one rebound and one assist and shooting 0-for-3 from the floor in a 117-116 overtime win. In high school, Paige starred for the Jamestown Red Raiders, leading that team to the New York State Class AA semifinals as a junior in 2011. Photo by Ken Ricker
