Addison appears to be ready to play in Sunday's divisional clash...Bills Assistant GM leaving for the Big Apple...and a Silver Creek senior enters rarified air in high school hoops. More details from Greg Larson on today's Saturday Sports Update...
Saturday Sports Update
Top left: The Buffalo Bills have a relatively clean bill of health heading into Sunday's AFC Divisional Playoff game against the Kansas City Chiefs. The only player on the team who missed any practice time this week due to injury was defensive end Mario Addison (right), shown here warming up during Wednesday's practice with head coach Sean McDermott looking on. Addison saw limited practice time on Wednesday and Thursday, but had a full practice on Friday, and does not have any injury designation status for Sunday. Photo by the Buffalo Bills
Top right: While the Bills are preparing for the Chiefs, they will soon be preparing for life without one of the mainstays of the McDermott era. On Friday, Bills Assistant General Manager Joe Schoen was hired as the new General Manager of the New York Giants. Schoen joined the Bills in 2017, the same year that McDermott and General Manager Brandon Beane arrived at One Bills Drive. Photo by the Buffalo Bills
Bottom left: 1,000 career points is a significant accomplishment in high school basketball, but 2,000 points is rarified air. Silver Creek senior Abby Rice surpassed that milestone on Friday with a 12-point, 11-rebound effort at Chautauqua Lake. Rice became just the second girls basketball player from Chautauqua County to reach 2,000 career points, and is now just 16 points away from becoming number one in the county. Photo by XGen Elite
Bottom right: The Buffalo Bills aren't the only athletes with championship aspirations on their minds this month. Jessica Pegula, the daughters of Bills co-owners Terry and Kim Pegula, is in Melbourne competing in the Australian Open. Pegula, who is ranked 21st in the world, will be playing her Round 4 match tonight against Maria Sakkari, the 5 seed. Photo from @JLPegula Twitter account
